What is the difference between gel eye liner and liquid?

I mean obviously ones gel and ones liquid but is the outcome any different? What is the difference between gel eye liner and liquid?
gel usually gets harder fasterWhat is the difference between gel eye liner and liquid?
The effect can either be the same or different. All gel and liquid liners are different, considering all of the different brand and formulations out there.

But generally speaking, I find gel liners can smudge (but not when dried), have a slightly glossy, but not super shiny finish, and can be used on the waterline. Liquid dries matte, can't be used on the waterline and can't be smudged.
liquid goes on more smooth and precise. while gel, is applied with a brush that you buy separetly. This so, the size of the brush will make ir more precise or not. People like GEL when doing the smoky eye effect. and Liquid, when doing the whole shaply cats eye or extended line on the top lash.

Gel comes in alot more colors, so if you buy one black and one gray. you first do a smooth line of black closest to the lash as you can, and then above that you do the lighter shade which is gray, and then you are able to blend it before it dries.

ALSO gel dries like that of regular eye liner its smudgable or blendable.

liquid eye liner is not blendable. it dries and if you touch it it will almost seem as if it cracks or rubs right off.
liquid will get all mixed up on the bottom. honestly, eyeliner does the trick on the top 10x better.
yes gel's usually are harder to remove and blend in after some time unlike liquid which pops and always stays on to grab attention.
