Liquid Eye-Liner?

help !! ive just purchased a liquid eye liner but i just cant get it to look right. I cant get a straight line.

Does it go above the eye lashes ?

or inside the rim ?Liquid Eye-Liner?
Most of the other people have said what I would say anyway, just practise, get a photo that you like in a magazine or online or something, then try to copy it. When you are doing it, pull your eye taut (example lift your head but look down at the mirror with your eyes), its easier to apply, but it may look different when you look straight on in the mirror. So you just have to keep trying till you get it right.

And the secret weapon.... Cotton wool buds, perfect for rubbing off lines, small sections, smoothing lines... I won't do my eyeliner unless I have cotton wool buds to use like an eraser!!!

Good luck!!Liquid Eye-Liner?
i would dot it in 3 places and then go back and connect the dots
I am a make up artist and here are some tips.

what you need:

eye liner brush

eyeliner

mascara

It takes alot of practice to get that perfect line or just to use the eyeliner itself. I like to put liquid eye liner on with a brush its easier. Then after you apply the eye liner(should only be at the top to get the good look) make sure its completely dry. The apply mascara.

If you doing the whole look start with eyeshadow

Shape and define your eyes with eyeliner after you've applied eye shadow and before applying mascara. Whether you choose a soft line or a dramatic stroke, eyeliner draws attention.

First, close one eye and gently tug and hold the outer edge of the eye taut with your left hand. With your right hand (lefties, vice-versa), using short strokes, line from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner, using a slight upward sweep at the outer corner. The upward point gives the illusion of gradually longer lashes (after curling and mascara, of course).

To steady a shaky hand when you want to apply a liquid liner, standing close to a mirror helps. Stand close to the mirror and allow the back of your hand to gently touch the mirror. This steadies the hand while you are applying the liner!

Hope that helps.
it goes above the eye lashes.. the best way for a beginner to apply it is to.. take your lid and hold it closed and slowly apply the liner.. do small sections at a time.. don't try to do the whole lid in one motion.. take your time and it'll come out right. with more practice you'll be able to get the line right. :)
I LOVE LIQUID EYE LINER! What helps me a lot is first drawing on my makeup with a regular pencil liner, then going back over it with the liquid. That way i can mess up with the pencil first, then when i get it right i apply the liquid.
Use it above your eyelashes (or below for your lower lid). If used inside the rim, your tears will 'dissolve' the makeup before it has time to dry. Try pulling your eyelid tight when you apply it (push/pull your eyelid slightly to the outside with one finger and apply the liner with your other hand).

If you have trouble using the applicator that came with the liner, you might have better luck with a tiny makeup brush. Some department store brands have developed special brushes for this type of thing. They're kind of expensive, but they'll last forever. Just be sure to rinse the brush and dry it after each use. It just takes some practice and a really steady hand to get it to look normal.

I have trouble using liquid liner too. I use my regular eye liner pencil inside the rim, but when I tried that with liquid it just sort of floated onto my eye (and under my contact...urghh!). I still have trouble getting liquid to work when I'm tired lol
Liquid liner is really just for above your lashes you should only use 'khol' pencil inside the rim, anything else will irritate the eye
check out the beauty section in www.videojug.com....its a great website.
I have been wearing liquid eyeliner for about 10 years now (omg i'm getting old)...

It takes A LOT of practice, but here's a few tips:

Go above the lashes, and DON'T apply it to your lower lid, it looks silly.

Start out thin on the part of your lid closest to your nose and increase the thickness as you brush it across your lid.

If the length of the applicator allows, place the bottom of your palm on your cheek to keep your hand steady as you go from one side ot the other.

Hope this helps, liquid eyeliner rocks! :) Just keep practicing.
above the lashes

and if its squiggly just dip a q tip in makeup remover to smooth it out ..

it takes a while to get right but good luck!
I find it easiest to control the line if you rest your hand against your cheek, holding the applicator like a pen, and angle it to vary the thickness - so to start off thin use the pointed tip, then gradually turn it towards its side to get a thicker line. If you want to flick out at the edges, you can turn back towards the tip to get a really defined edge, draw in the underneath of the flick, then fill it in. Just follow the natural contours of your eyelash-line as closely as possible, and try not to pull the skin too taught because when you let go it won't be the same shape. It takes a bit of practice but it's a very striking look.
omg. dont put it on the inside, it'll burn your eyes. it goes on the top of your lid. when applying balance by putting your pinky on your face.
u need practice!do it when uve got time at night. i lean my elbow on the dressing table for steadier hands. and as user above me said.if it goes a little wrong keep eye make up pad or summat nearby to wipe it away
Yes it does go above the eyelashes, just try and make sure you go right up to them.

Practice is the way to get better, and a steady hand is useful so rest your elbow on something if it helps, wet a cotton bud to clean up mistakes. Try and do the whole lid in one movement but don't distress if you have to do many smaller lines, just join them up neatly.

Experient, try flicking out the ends (this will make your eyes look bigger) and see what works and suits you. It's just best not to experiment just before you go out. Try not to go too thick, especially in the inner corner. I ued to make the mistake of getting thicker because the original line was messy, but then I'd have to make the other eye just as thick and so on, so avoid this if you can. You will get better so persevere!
